Just get on with it, people. This quote has helped me in my life, and I hope it helps you in yours. Please comment if you liked this. I am starting to wonder if this is a dead wiki.
What's on your mind?
Just found this photo. I really like it because my favorite Doctor is Peter Capaldi. What are your thoughts on the 12th Doctor, and who is your favorite Doctor?
Hello, I'm the creator of the page Isaac Danforth. I am writing to ask that the page and accompanying picture File:IsaacDanforthZedPOV.png be deleted from this wiki as soon as possible. I regret having to ask such an extreme measure but please believe me when I say I wouldn't be asking this if I didn't feel it was absolutely, urgently necessary.
Sorry I've been out of touch for a while... been busy doing other stuff!
For example, I've just completed my first solo read, 'The War of the Worlds(4)' for LibriVox. Link here...
So my next major project is to do my own story, 'Forgotten Suns', as an audiolbook.
I am looking for someone to read Jamie for me, and also Zoe Herriot. (Though I have had some interest there, so that lady will get first dibs, of course!)
No money involved - just a fan project!
However, I would really, really, really like to change my username...
Is there the faintest chance of the slighest possibility that this could perhaps be accomplished!
We have to wait for so long until the next series! It's out in 2020 and I literally cant wait until it's out! luckily there's lots of Doctor Who episodes on BBC iplayer to keep me busy!
Please help. Is it possible to post original fanfic stories here? (sorry to be so dense - I've read through everything I could find, and I still don't understand it! Haven't found any stories, just articles. Am I looking in the wrong place?) Anyways, I have one completed story to share, and one in progress, if anyone might be interested.
Oh, one other thing that worries me. I really don't like the idea of other people being able to 'edit' my work without my knowledge. Although I will always welcome comments and suggestions, and act on advice recieved - is there any possibility of having more control over my own stories?
Any help appreciated!
I am posting this as I think that HarryPotterRules1 has been a great administrator and think that he is ready to be promoted to bureaucrat. However, I am asking the community as bureaucrats cannot be demoted by anyone but themselves unless FANDOM step in. The vote will close on Sunday 11 March at 12:00 GMT, although if we don't get any votes this will be extended.
Vote by using:
Neutral, leaning support
Neutral, leaning oppose
With your reason.
I will be supporting this because Harry has been a great administrator who is active on the Discord channel and has been a great help combatting vandals. He may not be extremely active on the wiki but I have seen his stories on Discord and it is clear that he has an interest in writing fanon. (They're really good too)
So, overall I support this and am looking forward to hearing your responses.
Looking for advice and suggestions. I want to get geronimo in gallifreyan tattooed and I'm wondering what people have to say about linear vs circular as well as a good resource for translation. All the resources I have found vary slightly so I'm not sure which one to use.
Merry Christmas Doctor Who Fanon!
I hope everyone has a good day and that you all get what you wanted.
I can't wait to see what the Christmas special will be like. It will be sad to see Capaldi go, but I think Whittaker will be fantastic in the role.
Have a wonderful time DWF!
ABOUT DOING LIVE ACTION ADAPTATION OF EVERYTHING
Christmas is a special time for the Whoniverse with some of the best Doctor Who episodes being Christmas specials. Therefore, we thought it would be fantastic if we could have a Christmas competition, in which we can get our writers to produce some of the best episodes DWF has ever seen!
To win the competition, please write a short Christmas themed story for our Wiki Series. The winners will be annonced on the 22nd of December and will be featured on the main page as well as DWF's twitter.
To read the rules and find out how to submit and vote, please visit: doctorwhofanon.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:MattyMG13/Christmas_Special_Competition_(2017)
Over the past 2 years, Doctor Who Fanon (DWF) has been haemorrhaging users at an alarming rate. Many great users once populated the site, but, due to real-life commitments, lack of interest, or disappointment with the site, the majority of them left the site.
This has meant that the core values of DWF had not been passed down to new users, new stories were no longer created, the number of active users has fallen below five and many of the old administrators have left.
Therefore, the wiki is in need of change in order to attract new users and be engaging once more.
Fester and I have decided to start a project called the Golden Year Project, which is Doctor Who Fanon's attempt to capitalise on the hype created by the appointment of Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Doctor.
A series of projects will be set up or rebooted by the wiki in order to boost the number of users and the engagement of these users.
We have three goals:
• To produce, every week, interesting and engaging pieces of writing that can be enjoyed by all.
• To create a welcoming, thriving community like the one that once was the foundation of the wiki.
• To get the number of active users above 10 by the end of 2019.
We understand that these goals will be hard to attain, but DWF will only disappear into the land of forgotten wikis if we don't aim for something so bold.
To learn more about the Golden Year Project and how you can help the wiki become fantatsic again, please go to our to doctorwhofanon.wikia.com/wiki/Doctor_Who_Fanon:Golden_Year_Project_(2018)
Does a Category for Locations exist? I see the Planets category, but I don't see one for locations. If this does not exist, could one be created, so that there would be a category for an article about a location, such as New York City for example, that is much smaller than a whole planet?
That site got shut down, anyone know if they can contact its creator?
So, first off, I know this board is for admins only, but Finn gave me permission to make this post, so I can explain Chat Hacks to everyone.
Chat Hacks give you some options you wouldn't normally have. Now, you aren't hacking wikia or anything like that. They're just added features, which, as far as I know, are aproved by Wikia, since I talked with Yatalu thoose past days about how to get it to work, since I forgott, and also, the guy who made the chat hacks (http://community.wikia.com/wiki/User:Monchoman45) is an admin.
Before you do anything, you should probabily clear your cache. How to do it differs from browser to browser, so just google it for your browser.
What you have to do in order to get thoose chat hacks:
Go in chat, press CTRL SHIFT and J at the same time. A new tab will pop up. There, you will add in this following code:
That code. Like that. Don't change anything. Don't change the name, don't do anything. Just copy it, and paste it in the tab that will be opened when you press CTRL SHIFT and J.
After that, press Enter, and add in this code:
Same. No changing of anything, just copy paste it there. Press Enter, and you can close the tab that was opened by the keyboard combination.
Then in Chat, it will say something like "Chat hacks have been activated", or something like that.
Now it's time for me to actually tell you what those Chat Hacks even do. Theese are the features:
1. When someone types in your full username, you will beeped. There's also, up there, on the right of the logo, " Ping Phrases". If you put your mouse there, you can see your username there. If you type in any other words, you will be beeped when thoose words are typed as well.
2. The AFK button. If you have to go to the bathroom, or to eat, or whatever, but you leave the chat open, you don't have to wait 10 minutes for the chat to put you as AFK. There's a button you can press that will automaticly make you AFK.
3. And the most important thing, Multi-Person PMs. That's right. You won't be limited to only 2 person PMs anymore. You can make 3-Person Pms, or 4 or 5, etc etc. To do that you will have to press the PM button down near the box you're writing stuff in. There you will write the names of the people you want to include in the Group PM, including your username, separating them by a: ,
When you create a group PM, type it like this "Person A,Person B,Person C", without spaces before or after the ,
There's also one other thing. Every time you enter chat, the chat hacks reset and you have to insert them back. BUT, that only happends if you enter chat trough a link or trough the "Chat" button on the wiki headers. If you enter the chat trough the "Join Chat" button at the left of the wikia, and if you enter trough there, chat hacks will automaticly be there.
So that would be it.
For a while now, I have had this idea. Recently, I have been watching/reading/listening to Doctor Who comedy series. Basically these are comedy fan productions with many different Doctors (Aimless Wanderings, Too Many Doctor Whos, Infinite Dimensions, Black Archives), who have "noun" names, (Pompous, Incompetent, Fat Controller, Cheese Sandwich, Dinosaur, Vlogging etc). I thought that we could do something similiar.
Please respond to this if you wish to get involved. Here are some links to get you inspired!
I have some ideas for a few "noun" Doctors too.
If you feature series, I'd like to do something narcisistic and nominate my A Different Story series posted on Archive of Our Own. It consists of rewrites off series 1-4 and multiple oneshots centering around an OC, Lilithanadir Tyler-Lungbarrow. If not, I'll specifically nominate the ninth story in the series, Everything Ends, which is the rewrite of series 4
So here's an idea I've pitched for a sequel to the fanmade game, hopefully this time using Source (don't get me wrong, I loved the original, but I just like Source):
- A Time Lord escaped the Time War and all but lost his sanity. Let's call him Hawkspur. Hawkspur then tries to go back to the age of Rassilon to use the Hand of Omega to destroy Skaro before the Daleks evolve. Unfortunately for him, you-know-who was there at the time and, not having run into them yet, is quite opposed to the idea of destroying a complete species, even if they threaten the future of the Time Lords (which Hawkspur doesn't explain very well). So he hijacks the hand, fakes his own death and traps Hawkspur in the Eye.
- Who-knows-how-much-longer later, he's escaped and is planning revenge on the Doctor. He's taken control of Time Station Zeta, an abandoned Time Agent base manned by a robot security force. He uses the Time Scoop to kidnap the first Eight Doctors, his various companions, and some of his worst enemies, and place them in an area of space within the boundary nexus of “the Rift”. However, the Eighth Doctor manages to send out a Beacon aimed at Earth in the late twentieth/early twenty-first centuries…
Yes, it reeks of plagiarism from Destiny of the Doctors, but come on! Don't tell me you wouldn't want to play this.
How do you feel about this?
Also, as mentioned by the article, Series 10 will be airing in spring 2017.
