Cybermen are a race of cyborgs derived from the inhabitants of Mondas, who over time have evolved to incorporate members of many other races.

History[]

The history of the Cybermen are identical to their canon 'Classic' Doctor Who appearances.

Appearance[]

The 'current' model of the Cybermen are more armoured than previous iterations, due in part to the more extreme warrior-like attitudes developed during the War of Gods. However, beneath the armour, most Cybermen retain a significant portion of their organic original form. From the outside, no organic components can be soon, being covered by a dark, near-black microfibre bodysuit.

At the middle of a chest-plate is a raised unit, upon which is a light that glows blue when the Cyberman is active, turns off when they're inactive, and flashes when they are sending a signal to the Cyberiad. Additionally, there are two smaller lights, one on either side of the chest plates, which similarly light up when the Cyberman is activated.

Their head has the iconic Cyberman 'handles', which connect what would be the ears to a light atop the head, and are part of the mechanism that helps remove pain and emotion. However, unlike previous models of Cybermen, the 'current' model's handles have a slightly more triangular shape.

The 'eyes' have the signature teardrop-like hole to the side, along with several small, blue lights. The light atop their head is rarely turned on, mostly being used when in dark areas, as it is much brighter than the other lights, acting like a powerful torch.

Trivia[]

  • The design is inspired in part both by the 'Nightmare in Silver' designs, with the armoured 'robot warrior' look, although with elements inspired by Classic Who designs, such as the 'teardrop' on the mouth reminiscent of the design from 'The Wheel in Space', and metal bands on the arms similar to the original 'The Tenth Planet' design.
